The film is based on the 1968 novel Escape to Witch Mountain by author Alexander Key. The film is directed by Andy Fickman and stars Dwayne Johnson as Jack Bruno, Carla Gugino as Dr. Alex Friedman, Ciarán Hinds as Major Henry Burke, Alexander Ludwig and AnnaSophia Robb plays an alien. The movie was distributed by Walt Disney Pictures and released on March 13, 2009 in the United States with a running time of 98 minutes.
