Aashayein


Aashayein is a forthcoming Bollywood film written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, and produced by Percept Picture Company and T-Series. It stars John Abraham and film newcomer Sonal Sehgal in the lead roles. Aashayein is a story of a gambling addict who discovers new meanings of fortune and life through a dramatic turn of events. Aashayein is a tale of Rahul's journey from darkness to light. A journey about love, hate, life, death and above all hope.

A Christmas Carol


A Christmas Carol is a 2009 film adaptation of Charles Dickens' 1843 story of the same name. The film is written and directed by Robert Zemeckis, and stars Jim Carrey in a multitude of roles, including Ebenezer Scrooge as a young, middle-aged, and old man, and three of the ghosts who haunt Scrooge. A Christmas Carol began filming in February 2008, and was released on November 4, 2009 by Walt Disney Pictures. It received its world premiere in London, coinciding with the switching on of the annual Oxford Street and Regent Street Christmas lights, which in 2009 had a Dickens theme.

Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year


Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year is an upcoming Bollywood film directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Yash Raj Films. Screenplay of the film is by Jaideep Sahni, who has also collaborated with Shimit Amin for Chak De! India. Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year is about a salesman named Rocket Singh. The Sikh guy, who is good in his work slowly turns into a conman and begins to operate a parallel company within the same company he is working without the knowledge of others. His deals forms the story of the film. The film is slated to be released on 11 December 2009.

Paa


Paa is a forthcoming 2009 Indian movie directed by R Balakrishnan starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan. The film is scheduled for release on December 4, 2009. Veteran composer from Southern India, Ilaiyaraaja is scoring the music. Paa tells the story of an intelligent and witty 13yr old boy, Auro (Amitabh Bachchan), who suffers from Progeria, an extremely rare genetic disorder wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age. The name is derived from Greek and means prematurely old. Auro lives with his mother Vidhya (Vidya Balan), a gynaecologist. Amol Arte (Abhishek Bachchan) is Auro's father is a young politician full of ideals. He is out to prove to the world that 'politics' is not a bad world. The story revolves around the relationship between Amol and Auro.

Planet 51


Planet 51 is an upcoming animated film directed by Jorge Blanco, written by Joe Stillman and starring Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Gary Oldman and John Cleese. Produced by Madrid-based Ilion Animation Studios and HandMade Films for $60 million, it was acquired for US distribution by New Line Cinema in November 2007. Planet 51 is slated to be released on November 20, 2009, by Sony Pictures Worldwide via TriStar Pictures. It was originally titled Planet One, but re-named Planet 51 in reference to Area 51. The story follows an American astronaut Captain Charles "Chuck" Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders.

2012

2012 is an upcoming disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. The film has an ensemble cast, including John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton, Oliver Platt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Woody Harrelson. The film will be distributed by Columbia Pictures. Filming began in August 2008 in Vancouver. The film's release date is November 13, 2009. An epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

Astro Boy


Astro Boy, Also called Atom in Japan, is a 2009 computer-animated 3-D film based on the highly successful Japanese franchise of the same name by Osamu Tezuka. An origin story set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist, Dr. Tenma, in the image of the son he had lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving man's expectations, our hero embarks on a journey in search of acceptance, becoming part of a group of rowdy kids led by a girl named Cora, and experiencing betrayal and a netherworld of robot gladiators led by the greedy ring master, Ham Egg, before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the father who had rejected him.

9 is a 2009 animated sci-fi/action film directed by Shane Acker and produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, director of Wanted, and stars Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer. It is based on Acker's Academy Award-nominated short film of the same name. Although CGI, the movie will have a stylized look resembling stop motion. The screenplay was written by Shane Acker, Ben Gluck, and Pamela Pettler, co-writer of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. Casting for this film was done by Mindy Marin, production design by Robert St. Pierre and Fred Warter, and art direction by Christophe Vacher. The film has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA for violence and scary images. In the U.K., the film has been rated 12A by the BBFC for moderate sustained threat.

When 9 first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world where all humans are gone, and it is only by chance that he discovers a small community of others like him taking refuge from fearsome machines that roam the earth intent on their extinction. Despite being the neophyte of the group, 9 convinces the others that hiding will do them no good. They must take the offensive if they are to survive, and they must discover why the machines want to destroy them in the first place. As they'll soon come to learn, the very future of civilization may depend on them.
